A tiny hack. The brain and the zero-distraction system.

The platitude around time-management and common 24 hours distribution for all humans is obtainable in self-help books, prints or media. Gaining more from your time is directly proportional to one’s level of concentration and active cognitive particpation in realtime.

If you struggle with staying focused on a task for relevant number of hours, the ticking clock becomes your adversary. Mostimes, we are shocked at how quickly time flies not because of some mysterious intepretation but the fact that the work done doesn’t justify the time elapsed.

How to hack a productive time frame.

Embrace the withdrawal symptoms:

If you set a goal to make the most out of your time, the brain needs to get used to the new system of  almost-zero distraction and that’s were the struggle comes in.

Sometimes, there is an involuntary stretch to reachout to, say, your phone or doom scroll on socials. Yeah, There is that! Self awareness in this regard is important. That takes me to the next point.

It’s a journey and not a one-shot fix:

Every urge to get to your phone or a peculiar distraction is a response for a behavior that has remained over time.

Once a zero-distraction goal seems to be compromised, try to always re-align yourself back. Example, If you picked up your phone then you realized, oh, I shouldn’t be on X (formerly twitter), what do you do ? Close the app and get back to work.

Mind you, you may have to repeat this process over and over to get your brain used to the new system of zero distraction. The mind is flexible and it can be trained even in short a time.

Overtime, you see yourself make out good dividends off your time and in extension, your day.

May your days be productive in your terms. Cheers!
